A company I worked for once had serious cashflow issues. It had no budget for conferences, trainings or integration parties. Later it even failed to pay in time. Yet the team didn't leave for a long time, but stayed productive and integrated.
It is dangerous to underestimate the importance of soft side of our work life. And it is naive to think, that we wouldn't make these mistakes.
